Have your say on the council’s proposal to amalgamate Harefield Infant School and Harefield Junior School to form a single primary school. The consultation closes at 5pm on Wednesday 30 July.
The council are proposing to close Harefield Infant School and extend the age range of Harefield Junior School from 7 to 11-year-olds to 3 to 11-year-olds.
The new school will include pupils from 4 to 5-year-olds (reception) through to 10 to 11-year-olds (year 6) and will provide the same nursery class for 3 to 4-year-olds as the current infant school.
It will also admit up to 60 pupils each year, which is the same number of students currently admitted by both the infant and juniors schools, ensuring that no pupils will be displaced.
If approved, Harefield Infant School will close on Tuesday 31st March 2026. Harefield Junior School will extend its age range to become a primary school from Wednesday 1st April 2026.
The council can confirm that no buildings or property at the school sites will be closed, removed, developed or sold as a result of the proposed amalgamation.
